Y’all, I’m all about making life easy. In all things of life lol. But, when we are talking about beach time… I want it to be just that.
I want to take myself right down to the beach…plop down…and not move until I’m ready. I know I can’t be the only one. There’s something about just sitting and letting the waves crash on my feet while I soak up everything the ocean and sun want to serve me.
So here’s what I think everyone needs in order to get the most out of their beach time…
5 Position Reclining Beach Chair
Seriously. No, seriously. This one is a necessity for me at this point. To sit the chair down at the edge of the water and let the waves run up to your toes (or if your me, past your head lol) it’s amazing! If you love sitting in the water with the low sitting beach chairs then you should try it with a 5 position reclining chair. The one I used most recently was a lay flat. Like you see here…
You can find these on Amazon in an assortment of price ranges. My favorite is this Tommy Bahama lay flat chair. Padded straps for backpack style carrying, insulated pockets for drinks, pillow etc.
Backpack Cooler
This specific bag you’ll remember seeing from my Beachly Subscription box and I LOVE IT!!! It’s the reason I fell in love with a backpack cooler. Find one with some padding in the shoulder straps and this is the perfect way to free up your hands to carry other things. This one is out of stock everywhere, but I have some good alternatives below.
This one gets some great reviews and has a cute pattern.
This one by TourIt is a best seller with great reviews as well. Lots of pockets for extra storage. Built in bottle opener. Holds up to 30 cans! I’d say that’ll get the job done.
External Battery Pack
There are a plethora of options when it comes to a battery pack. I have small ones, large ones, fast charging ones, ones that charge more than one device at a time… the list goes on. Ya’ll know. You also know how much we use our phones. Although, I do enjoy a good unplugged moment at the beach, I also am known to take LOTS and LOTS of pics. I can’t help myself. No one wants to be sitting on the beach and seeing the perfect sunset only to whip out your dead cell phone because it hasn’t been charged. A portable charger comes in handy in more than just that scenario, but for the sake of this post, we are keeping it with its value while your booty is in the sand.
This 2 pack is perfect if you’re looking for something small and lightweight.
If you’re looking for something built for outdoors with multi device charging capabilities, I would go with something more like this…
Waterproof Bag
I don’t really know what we did before waterproof cell cases. I mean, I do, but man it makes life so much easier. I’ve used these on beach trips, cruise, boat rides and even Disney World (because you never know what you might get into at Disney!) These have been a lifesaver on more than one occasion. It drives me crazy when I forget them during a trip. My one tip is to make sure you test them before getting into the water or setting them in your reclining chair and forgetting about them in the waves. Most I’ve had work well, but even with good reviews you can occasionally get a dud. Put some paper or tissue in the bag and close it up and then submerge in water to make sure it keeps everything dry. Better to test on a paper towel than your brand new IPhone.
Try this 2 pack. These were the ones I purchased most recently. They also have several color options.
If you really wanted to go all out, you could opt for a waterproof bag like this one. Keeps everything dry.
Portable Safe
I’m super excited to share this find. There’s nothing worse than going to get in the ocean with your kids, friends, partner or maybe even while traveling alone, and feeling like you can’t leave your belongings. This little gadget gives you some piece of mind so you can really be carefree. It’s a portable lock box. This one is new for me and honestly, theft always sits in the back of my mind. Nowadays we tend to have cell phones, maybe cash or cards for the tiki bar trips and some other things we don’t want anyone to get their hands on. That’s a sure fire way to ruin a trip. And I hate that it’s a worry, but it’s better to be cautious than to be left wishing you’d protected your stuff. My top 2 picks would definitely be either of these below.
The first is water resistant, 5 layer slash resistant and RFID blocking.
The next is a little smaller with a steel cable , strong exterior shell and also water resistant.
No matter where you’re going or who you’re traveling with, these will quickly become beach staples. They aren’t exactly necessities, but they will make your beach days much more relaxing and easy.
If you have any or decide to try some, let me know in the comments. Or tell me some of your beach day must haves so I can give them a try as well!
Until next time, lovelies!
