Happy Tuesday, lovelies!!!

So I returned back to the real world on Sunday and had full intentions of getting this post written and posted Sunday afternoon, buttttttttt…….here we are lol.

I spent the weekend in the amazing Hilton Head SC. And oh. my. goodness. What fun was had!?

It was a trip I had been planning with my brothers girlfriend for over a month. Between being a mama, partner, working full time, student part time and all the things going on in the world that stir up anxiety and depression, we thought this was a good time for a refresher.

We drove down Friday after work and arrived around 5:30pm. It gave us plenty of time to settle into the condo and find dinner.

We kept it simple with this cute bar and grill on the beach which was only a 5 minute walk from our condo. The walk consisted of this gorgeous boardwalk over a marsh with beach homes you could see in the distance.

I loved that this didn’t feel like a touristy location. It was peaceful and quiet. Until we got to Coco’s On The Beach, which was filled with this amazing beach/reggae music and drinks “made with love” (according to the bartender when we told him he was very generous with the alcohol).

Saturday morning we found the BEST bakery with delicious coffee and food! I was in love with this place. The location, the décor, the atmosphere, the waitress, all the things! If you are near there you should check it out! The French Bakery

Followed up by an entire afternoon of sitting on the beach. I adore my children, but there is something to be said about sitting on a beach all afternoon and drifting between swimming, reading and closed eyes. It was heaven.

My soul was at peace. Up until the jellyfish sting, but that’s an entirely different story and didn’t ruin my time lol. Evidently I was trying to become one with the ocean.

(I’ve posted the link above of the current book I’m reading. The perfect book while I was reading on the beach. I made it several chapters in and can’t put it down.)

After missing our turn and ending up over the bridge due to traffic (That totally happens to other people right? No?? Just me???) we ate at Hook & Reel Cajun Seafood & Bar that night. When I tell you the look on this girls face was pure elation, I am not exaggerating lol. Don’t worry there are pictures. That steaming bag of seafood gave me laughs the whole evening just watching the dancing action as she put the fork to mouth lol.

Before ending our trip we made another stop Sunday morning at The French Bakery to fill in the gaps of the food we missed out on from the day before!

The whole trip flew by far too quick. I wasn’t ready for it to end and I’m already ready for round 2.

I think as adults (if that’s what we wanna call ourselves lol) we all deserve a little down time and a space to recharge our batteries. This place definitely did all of that for me. I’m low key already planning another girls trip shhhhhhhhhh……..it’s a secret.

Hello Lovelies!

Woman standing in outdoor parking garage with smoke around her face

Hi! I’m just a woman who is still trying to figure out this thing called life, but you can call me Nikki. A mom, travel enthusiast, Starbucks addict who is never lacking for clumsy stories. But pineapples make me happy and palm trees swaying in the salty, ocean air ease my restless soul. Read more about me here.
