A few months ago we talked about living a romanticized life. And all the ways we could go about finding those moments inside of our everyday lives.
Life has ebbs and flows, ups and downs. It’s like this stream. A constant current. Sometimes swift and choppy. Sometimes docile and serene. No matter the flow we’ve found ourselves in at this moment, we have to find ways to take a moment for ourselves and do something we enjoy.

I’m slowly learning that life can’t be filled with one rush of anxiety to the next. Constantly on guard for the next rug to be pulled out from under. Or one moment sprinting to the next moment and so on and so on until we are old and gray and looking back at where life went. Because it will happen if we let it. I’ve seen it.
I think for me I’ve had a striking realization in the last few weeks that has left me somewhat uneasy and wondering why so many of us sit around and let life pass us by. Myself included. After the medical scare with my Dad a few weeks ago and watching my Mom forget who I am over the last 6 years, it’s scary to say the least. How quickly it can all go.

This has been heavy on my mind and heart and I know I’m guilty of allowing life to slip away without going after goals and dreams. And when I say going after dreams, I mean GETTING. IT. DONE. No excuses, no time wasters. Just getting to business and chasing those dreams.
What about just sitting in peace in the moment your in? How many of us struggle with that one? Be honest with yourself.
I also know I’m one of the ones that bounces from one anxiety to the next. I can ALWAYS find something to worry about. LOL. So how do we break that? How do we find the good, ease the tension, chase the dreams, relax into a life we love?

I think we would all be doing ourselves a disservice by not fully living every minute of life. I mean really living. In whatever capacity that means for us. Everyone is different. Everyone has their own needs and ideas of what makes life fun, enjoyable, relaxing or fulfilled. Do those things and do them often.
I’m learning that the R&R you need is squished in between the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It’s not always perfect, it’s just what you make of it that counts. I would love to be sitting oceanside in a little bungalow with my cup of coffee every morning. And one day I’ll have that, but until then, I have to find happiness in the here and now. Finding ways to settle into chasing what you want while being happy with what you have.

Last week I managed to really find time to regroup and refresh my mind in between the mundane moments in life. I tried making them a little more memorable and extraordinary. Because, lets face it, that’s up to you and me. We can’t wait on someone to make that kind of life for us. We can’t wait on the perfect moments to travel or try a new restaurant or new adventure. The time is now. Let’s say it again for the ones in the back… the time is now!

What will you focus on in the coming weeks that puts you in that frame of mind? Are there small changes you can make in your daily life? Mine was a walk in a place I’ve never been before while my daughter was in volleyball practice. Those are small victories for me. So comment yours and let’s bounce ideas.
