You guys…..I am officially a lobster after this incredibly beautiful weekend.
All I wanted was an afternoon of reading a book in the sunshine and BAM! Burnt.

Miserable kind of sunburn where it hurts to have clothes on. Yeah, that kind.

So off I went to find solutions for my misery and it’s actually done wonders. I’m pretty impressed by it’s effectiveness.
So, this wasn’t the post I had planned but with gorgeous days ahead I thought I’d pass along my new found inside scoop.

Saturday and Sunday night I soaked in the Aveeno Soothing Bath Treatment. This stuff is awesome. I even made a paste with some of the undissolved pieces and just let it sit on my skin. So soothing on my skin. I’ll be keeping this in stock for the summer in case I get a little too much sun. It’s good for lots of other things as well.

Next up is this ribbon aloe. Yes, please and thank you. I love this stuff. It’s so moisturizing with the aloe and lotion mixed together. I’ve never liked putting just straight aloe on my body. It grosses me out because I’m weird like that. This stuff does not have that feeling and I enjoy it. It seems to make the sunburn actually sink into my skin and tan instead of going from a burn to peeling.

Now let’s face reality, what I should have done was used sunscreen. Instead of being lost in my world of fiction I should have coated and reapplied regularly to AVOID the sunburn. So here’s my fave sunscreen at the moment. I used it on my cruise last year and it worked really well.

That’s all folks. Those 2 things on the regular and I’m feeling so much better than I would have with just regular aloe. Did it take out the sting and all the pain of it, no, but it helped tremendously.
Fingers crossed we steer clear the rest of summer 🤞🏼

Hello Lovelies!

Woman standing in outdoor parking garage with smoke around her face

Hi! I’m just a woman who is still trying to figure out this thing called life, but you can call me Nikki. A mom, travel enthusiast, Starbucks addict who is never lacking for clumsy stories. But pineapples make me happy and palm trees swaying in the salty, ocean air ease my restless soul. Read more about me here.
