Navarre Beach, Florida: A Quiet Slice of Beach Life

Navarre Beach is this quiet little piece of paradise that lays smack dab in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the typical touristy destinations on the Florida coastline. And it’s one of my favorite parts about this location.

Don’t get me wrong, I love a good visit to PCB or Destin with it’s line after line of condos and a million things to do. But, it also comes with a certain level of entertainment to keep up with that I’m not always up for.

BUT, Navarre Beach offers something totally different. It hangs out under the radar with little attention, but that’s what makes it unique. A quiet and relaxing step away from reality in a perfect beach setting.

We used this beach trip as a couples getaway and a time to recharge with each other and with ourselves. This made for the perfect backdrop to do that.

When we arrived at our condo, The Pearl, we were not disappointed. The perfect location for us to be near the pier and some good food. Within walking distance if you wanted. It was a gorgeous 2 bedroom on the 13th floor with an amazing balcony view of the sunrise over the pier and sunset to the right.

Speaking of the pier, it happens to be the claim to fame. The longest fishing pier in Florida and that’s exactly what you’ll find when you take a stroll…fisherman. In this town you’re far more likely to catch someone up at the crack of dawn to catch some fish rather than partying it up late night.

But seriously, spend the $1 for the all day pass to walk the pier. It’s interesting to watch everyone intently fishing as well as the beauty of being out over the ocean.

Food

One of the key parts of any vacation for me is the food. This girl loves her food. So we can’t talk about Navarre Beach without talking about the food.

If you’re looking for the “tiki bar” vibe then stroll down to Windjammers on the Pier. Cold drinks, amazing fish tacos, karaoke and trivia, all while beachfront. Right on the sand.

Want some AMAZING food? Go to Broussards of Navarre. It sits at the corner of Navarre Beach Causeway and Gulf Blvd. The most convenient location with an outdoor patio if you’re looking to get a glimpse of the ocean. The ocean was not the main feature of this restaurant, it’s the food. Do yourself a favor and try the fried cheesecake. It will change your life.

TC’s Front Porch has breakfast to die for. So good we had to go twice. If you’re in the mood for a little bit of everything then Andrews “Hot Mess” is for you. If you have a sweet tooth then go with the mixed berry french toast. Parking isn’t the greatest, but you won’t be disappointed with this little breakfast haven. They also serve up lunch for an incredibly affordable price.

What To Do

Let’s be honest…the main attraction is the pristine sugar-white sand beaches and the emerald green water that washes up to it. Our condo supplied beach chair rentals and to sit on those chairs, under an umbrella, listening to the waves crashing on to an uncrowded beach….it was pure bliss. You won’t get big waves for surfing, but it is the perfect water for paddle boarding or kayaking. And you’ll see a lot of it.

Want a little adventure? Go to the intercoastal waterway and rent a jet ski or pontoon. We opted for a jet ski and it was a mixture of fun and relaxation. My favorite part had to be floating by the dolphins and watching them swim around in the sound. I was so mesmerized by being that close to them that I completely forgot I had a phone for pictures. It made for an incredible day.

You can rent scooters and ride down Gulf BLVD or get a bike and use the bike paths you’ll find everywhere!

You won’t find mini golf or heavy nightlife here, but it’s not lacking for relaxed fun if that’s what you’re after.

If you want my opinion this makes the perfect location for everything from a couples getaway, girls trip, family reunion or vacationing with kids who love staying at the ocean all day. It’s full of friendly locals and beautiful views. Give it a shot and let me know what you think!

Hi! I’m just a woman who is still trying to figure out this thing called life, but you can call me Nikki. A mom, travel enthusiast, Starbucks addict who is never lacking for clumsy stories. But pineapples make me happy and palm trees swaying in the salty, ocean air ease my restless soul. Read more about me here.
